Casa de Esperanza Teen Advisory Board

The Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How of Casa Teens

The Casa de Esperanza Teen Advisory Board was started in 2004 and provides a connection for teens from the community to plan activities for the children of Casa and to assist in various volunteer capacities to support Casa de Esperanza and its mission, while also accruing community service hours.

Who should be on the Casa de Esperanza Teen Advisory Board?

High school students who have an interest in the mission of Casa. Outside of the school setting, many teens become familiar with Casa through family projects, parents volunteering, Scout projects and church related support of Casa de Esperanza. Invitations to be a Member of the Teen Advisory Board will be made to selected students based on school contacts’ nomination and other recommendations. Our goal is to maintain a group of approximately 25 students as members; New members must be rising freshman, sophomores or juniors.

What will the Teen Advisory Board do for children of Casa de Esperanza?

The Teen Board will organize and plan 3-4 events with the children of Casa de Esperanza per year. The teens may also assist in other ways, such as cooking a meal for the children, yard clean up, helping during the holidays with Christmas toy donations, administrative support, and basic need drives.
