The Residential Program is the heart of Casa de Esperanza. These family-centered homes are loving and nurturing due to the efforts of a committed staff of live-in caregivers.

Agency Foster Homes  
Casa de Esperanza staff mem
bers provide graduating levels of care from temporary emergency placements to long term foster care, depending on the needs of children in placement at any given time.

Community Foster Homes
Foster parents in the community care for children in stable family homes, allowing children to form attachments, improve developmental and socialization skills and deal with their emotional issues in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

 

 

2006 Facts:

  • 113 children were served in Residential Program

  • 9 agency homes & 30 community foster homes

  • 24,518 days of care

  • Average age of admission:  14 months; 57% under 6 months

  • 64% documented abuse or neglect

  • 44% prenatally exposed to drugs and/or alcohol

  • 22% have congenital birth defects

  • 88% of the mothers are single

  • Ethnicity: 30% African-American, 37% Hispanic, 19% White, 13% Bi-Racial 1% Asian



Casa de Esperanza's residences are licensed under the
Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

It is the policy of Casa de Esperanza that no family is
charged for services provided by the agency.
